For 39 years, City School has offered a challenging academic program for the critical-thinking, creative, motivated, and socially-minded student. Our focus is ethical citizenship, especially in the context of the environment. Our school community is small, friendly and committed to its mandate as a Platinum EcoSchool.

Despite our small size, we offer numerous semestered courses in the Humanities, Mathematics, Arts, and Sciences for students that are planning to pursue post-secondary education. Our courses are enriched by field trips, guest speakers and experiential learning opportunities.

Our on-site staff consists of seven teachers and an Office Adminsitrator. We also have a part-time Social Worker and an Itinerant Special Education Resource Teacher (IRT), both of whom spend one day per week at the school. Our Curriculum Leader is our administrative liaison and Guidance counselor.

City School is located in a Ministry of Education Community Hub, sharing its building with a pre-school, daycare, elementary school, and community centre. In addition to large classrooms, a library and general meeting room, and a music reharsal space, students have access to a large gym, basketball court, dance studio, and cafe where they can buy inexpensive, freshly-made meals; the soup is superb!

Nearby Ireland Park, Norway Park, Billy Bishop Airport, and the Music Garden evoke the rich history of our neighbourhood, while the Martin Goodman Trail represents the present - ours is a pedestrian and bike-friendly community.
